Salonki 25 6.–7.9.2025
Modern metro project was part of a pop-up group exhibition called Salonki 25.
Salonki was a window into emerging and established voices from architecture, design, interior architecture, and the visual arts in Finland.
Produced with care and curiosity by an independent working group: designer Wenla Nwajei, interior architect Väinö Heiskanen, graphic designer Siri Piippo-Pinho, and NEMO Architects – Maria Klemetti Laine and Jussi Laine. In collaboration Bo LKV, Lepo Product and Formica Group Europe.

An exhibition looking at the vanishing Helsinki metro architecture arraged at the metroplatform level at Herttoniemi.
Scale model pieces reflected the form and fragility of Herttoniemi metrostation, while the postcard photographs more broadly depicted original elements of the 1980s metro. The publication brings together parts of the exhibition and included texts by interior architect Jussi Laine, architect and doctoral researcher Merete Kemppainen, and architect Olli Nieminen. Graphic design by Kaarina Tammisto. The magazine and postcards were easy to take along during the exhibition. Scale model pieces, photographs, exhibition production and design by Karita Rytivaara.
Funding the Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Riisuttu runko Stripped
Frame 9.–15.9.2022
Stripped Frame was a collaborative project between architects Karita Rytivaara and Kaisa Karvinen and examined the anatomy of disappearing 1960s and 70s buildings and the process of demolition.
Everyday modern buildings including schools, office buildings, factories, health care centers, and shopping malls are being demolished at an accelerating pace. We devoted time and attention to the discussions, events, materials, and architecture often hidden behind demolition fencing. Also, the exhibition location, Merihaka P1 parking house, is threatened to be demolished.
Stripped Frame is a study and exhibition project by Karita Rytivaara and Kaisa Karvinen. Research and exhibition design was done together. Scale models made by Karita Rytivaara.
Funding by the Kone Foundation.
